Batter up! ⚾️ Students knocked it out of the park in Mrs. Cabiad’s class today!
She took her lesson outside for a game of Vocabulary Baseball, and the kids were hitting home runs left and right!💥
There is nothing better than seeing our students work together, cheer each other on, and master their vocabulary words while soaking up some sunshine.
Way to crush it, team! 🏆

🎉LAKESIDE MIDDLE SCHOOL 🤝GENERATION ALIVE! 🎉
Today, we officially launched our Generation Alive Kickoff Assembly, and the energy in the room was absolutely electric! Our students are fired up and ready to make a huge impact in our local community.
We are also thrilled to announce a massive shout-out and welcome to our official Generation Alive sponsor, Timber Roofing! 🌲🔨
They have generously partnered with our amazing PTN to support this year's campaign and help our students learn the power of giving back. We couldn't do this without local leaders like Timber Roofing stepping up to invest in our kids and our community.
💪 Here is where we need YOUR help! Our big goal this year is for our PTN to partner with GA to raise funds for our upcoming food packing event. Every penny raised goes directly toward purchasing ingredients for shelf-stable meals, which our students will hand-pack themselves to support food-insecure families right here in our own Nine Mile community. Let’s work together to show our neighbors some love and make sure no one goes hungry!
Stay tuned to see all the amazing things our students accomplish during this GA challenge!

Today, our Lakeside Eagles participated in our second emergency response drill of the school year. While we hope these skills are never needed in a real-world scenario, being prepared is our top priority.
Today’s Focus: Medical Emergency Response
We simulated a medical emergency within a classroom to test our internal systems. Our students and staff were nothing short of phenomenal:
• The "Secure and Teach" Protocol: Students across the building moved quickly to their classrooms and remained calm and focused throughout the duration of the drill.
• The Response Team: Our dedicated team of teachers and staff, supported by our school nurses and Resource Sheriff, reacted with incredible speed and professionalism.
• The Result: The entire drill was successfully cleared in under 10 minutes!
A huge thank you to our students for their maturity and to our staff for their vigilance. We are proud to see our Eagles soaring when it comes to safety and responsibility. 🦅🎓

🎨 Pure. Creative. Magic. 🎨
Stop scrolling and just look at the vibrancy on these canvases! 🖌️✨ Our studio has been transformed into a literal explosion of color, and we couldn’t be prouder of the incredible work our students are producing right now.
From deep, moody textures to bright, electric pops of color, these aren't just "paintings"—they are masterpieces in the making!

⚾️ Baseball at LMS! ⚾️
The energy is electric tonight! Our Varsity boys are absolutely crushing it on the diamond against Newport. Between the powerhouse plays and the incredible crowd support, it’s a perfect night for some LMS Baseball!
Current Status: 🔥 Varsity is dominating at home!
Beautiful night, even better game.

Today is National School Principals’ Day, and while we appreciate strong leadership every day, we wanted to take a moment to specifically honor our principal, Mr. James Ashlock.
James is a truly mighty leader who brings a rare blend of strength, intentionality, and genuine care to our halls. To know James is to know a leader who doesn't just "run" a building—he nurtures a community. We are incredibly lucky to have his steady hand and clear vision at the helm of our school.
Thank you, Mr. Ashlock!!!

👟 First Meet, Best Meet! 👟
Our very first 6th Grade Track Meet is officially in the books, and "proud" doesn't even begin to cover it! It was a day filled with speed, sweat, and a whole lot of heart.
Here are the highlights from an unforgettable day:
Our Incredible Athletes: Our 6th graders showed up and showed out! All those weeks of hard work and practice paid off as they pushed their limits on the track and in the field.
The Best Fans in the Stands: To the parents and families—your energy was electric! Thank you for being the loudest cheering section around and supporting our students every step of the way.
PTN Power: A huge shoutout to our awesome PTN! From keeping us fueled at the concessions to raising vital funds for our school’s future events and needs, we couldn't do this without your hustle.
Our Stellar Coaches: Thank you to our coaching staff for your dedication, patience, and for inspiring these kids to give it their all.
The Lakeside Connection: A massive thank you to the Lakeside High School Track & Field team and the mighty Coach Monahan. You hosted a flawless event and created the best possible introduction to the sport for our students.
It was a beautiful day for our school community. We can't wait to see what these athletes do next! 🏆🏃♂️🏃♀️

March Middle/High Lunch Menu! YUM!!

🎓 They grow up so fast! 🎓
Our incredible 8th grade class took a huge step toward their future by registering for their high school classes!
It’s hard to believe that just a short time ago they were walking our halls as brand new middle schoolers, and now they’re making decisions that will shape their high school journey and beyond. From future engineers and athletes to artists, leaders, and everything in between — the excitement and potential in this group is truly inspiring.
We are so proud of the young adults they’ve become during their time here. Their growth, resilience, and personality have left a lasting mark on our school.
High school is lucky to be getting this group. Once an Eagle, always an Eagle. 🦅

8th Grade Parents! Mark your calendars.
