Hello Nine Mile!  This is Jeff Baerwald filling in for Brian Talbott.

Although today is the last day of school, please know that we will be hard at work over the next two months planning for reopening our schools in the fall.

Today also marks the end of our daily meal delivery.  We know the impact that COVID has had on our economy may have created a hardship for some of our families.  Although this economic impact is due to circumstances out of your control, you may find that your students now qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch. If you have not signed up for Free and Reduced Lunch for the 2019-20 school year and believe you now qualify, please access the district’s online application by Sunday, June 28th.

When you qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch, you also qualify for additional food support through the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services Pandemic-EBT program. You may receive a one-time credit of $399 per child. You will need to apply for Free and Reduced Lunch in order to be eligible for the Pandemic-EBT benefit.

Please know that this will not be the last message we send to you. The Nine Mile Falls School District’s office is open during the summer, and we will continue to update you on important information and changes as we plan for the next school year. For now, we are wishing for you a summer filled with family, friends and great memories of time spent together.

Finally, thank you.  Thank you for all of your support in helping our district navigate through these challenging times.  We couldn’t have done this without you.  It is because of you, we are 9 Mile Proud.
