When Should My Child Stay Home?

Contagious illness is always with us and can be spread in a variety of ways. If your child has any of the symptoms listed, please keep him/her at home until the symptoms subside.

flu

Influenza (Flu)

Influenza spreads readily from person to person in schools, workplaces and homes. Consider getting an annual flu vaccine to prevent sickness, unnecessary healthcare visits, hospitalizations, and deaths from influenza.

Covid 19

COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Outbreaks of novel virus infections among people are always of public health concern. Safeguarding the health, wellness, and safety of our students and staff is an integral part of our ability to offer in-person instruction.

lice

Head Lice

Parents might be surprised to learn that a diagnosis of head lice is not a reason to stay home from school.

handwashing

Hand Washing

One of the most important steps to keep school staff and students healthy is cleaning hands at key times with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not readily available.

Healthy Schools
