Superintendent's Message

Happy Holiday’s Nine Mile!

It’s hard to believe that the end of another year is upon us.  As we roll through December and the holiday season, I have been reflecting on the many things we have to be thankful for in the Nine Mile Falls School District.

To begin with, I am truly thankful to live and work in a community that continues to support our students and schools.  We have amazing family and community support and an incredible staff that strives everyday to ensure that we are meeting the needs of every student.

I am also thankful for the federal ESSER dollars the district has received.  With these funds we have been able to add staffing to reduce class sizes and initiate needed HVAC improvements to Lake Spokane, Lakeside High School, and Nine Mile Falls Elementary.  Furthermore, these dollars have also been used to support the adoption of updated curriculum within the district.

Finally, and without question, I am thankful to have our students back in our buildings every day.  Seeing our classrooms and after school activities filled with students again is truly heartwarming.  Our students drive our “why,” the reason we do this work.  I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity to work with such amazing students, staff, families, and community members.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy holiday season!
