LSE's Spring Choir Concert
An evening of beautiful music was a perfect tribute to retiring Choral Music Director Mrs. Colleen Weisser. Held in the Lake Spokane Elementary cafeteria, the twenty-one member fifth grade choir sang nine selections and an encore. The mix of music went from the fun Football and Boll Weevil, to traditional and folk songs: I Don't Care if the Rain Comes Down, Cherokee Lullaby, Native Dance, A Song of Peace, Hitori, Rhythm of the Rain, and Child of Tomorrow. Some selections featured students both singing solos and playing instruments.
The concert ended with Mrs. Weisser giving each student a gift bag and certificate. Principal Kevin Simpson thanked Mrs. Weisser for her legacy of music, for her inspiration to the many thousands of students she taught, and for being a great friend as well as colleague. He presented her with a Symphony candy bar and a big hug!
