• National Honor Society Induction

At a candlelight ceremony on Monday, March 26,  Lakeside High School inducted 20 new members into its National Honor Society Chapter. To qualify for membership, a student must have completed the first semester of the sophomore year with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5.  From there, the student must apply.

Leadership, service, character, and scholarship are the four qualities looked for in applicants.  Students must write about how they have contributed to the school and to the community in each of these four areas.  The application is reviewed by a committee of teachers.  Membership is granted if the student has met the criteria.

Seniors in the Honor Society were individually recognized as well.   As they received their patch to wear at graduation, a list of their Honor Society accomplishments and their post high school plans was read. The evening ended with a celebratory reception with family and friends.
