Night of Enchantment
A frenzy of fund-raising fun was had by all who attended "Night of Enchantment," or Dinner Auction. This annual event, sponsored by the Lake Spokane PTN, was held on Saturday, March 7. Guests filled "Salon V" at the Double Tree-Downtown, to feast on fantastic food, to socialize, and to raise money for the school. Each guest selected a numbered paddle for the evening.Along the back wall were 32 baskets for the Silent Auction. For the baskets, classrooms had an assigned theme and parents donated items. To bid on a basket, a guest wrote down his/her paddle number and amount, so that bids were anonymous. This portion of the auction stayed open from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Additionally, nine baskets were raffled at $1 for one card, with six decks of cards sold...a quick $312!After a delicious dinner, the Live Auction was held. Paddles flew into the air as Mr. Matthew Keller, the auctioneer, named and described a basket and its starting bid. In all, 22 baskets were auctioned. Dessert offered yet another Frenzy. On each table was a Dessert Frenzy bidding sheet. Each table pooled money and placed it into the pocket of the sheet. This was collected and at 9:00 p.m.; the table with the highest bid chose its dessert first, and so on down to the least amount bid.
This evening was not only fun, it generated funds for Lake Spokane Elementary classrooms, and the PTN was able to donate $168 to the school's Relay For Life team. The PTN would like to thank all volunteers who donated countless hours to plan this event; all businesses and members of the community who donated to the auction; and a big "thank you" to all of the parents and members of the community who came out to support the Annual Dinner Auction.
