The Lakeside Way: Working Hard * Doing The Right Thing * Being Yourself
Lakeside Middle School offers 9 different sports for our 7th- and 8th-grade students. Two (2) of the sports permit our 6th graders to participate (cross country & wrestling) as well.
As of Thursday, October 8, 2020, here is the latest update we have for LMS athletics for the upcoming school year:
Our sports league (Inland Empire Mid-level League - IEML) is tentatively planning the following sports seasons:
January 4 - January 29, 2021 - 7th-grade Boys'/Girls' Basketball
February 1 - February 26, 2021 - 7th/8th Girls' Volleyball & 6th/7th/8th Boys'/Girls' Wrestling
March 1 - 26, 2021 - 8th-grade Boys'/Girls' Basketball
April 12 - May 7, 2021 - 6th/7th/8th Boys'/Girls' Cross Country & 7th/8th Girls' Softball
April 12 - May 14, 2021 - 7th/8th Boys'/Girls' Football
May 17 - June 11, 2021 - 7th/8th Boys'/Girls' Track & 7th/8th Boys'/Girls' Baseball
League schedule may group 3 geographically close schools together for this school year for athletic competition purposes. Additionally, sporting seasons shown will only take place and be offered if our county and school are safe to do so and in the sports-permitted "phase" per WA state and WIAA guidelines. League athletic directors are still in discussions and won't have much more detail until probably at least December for the January 2021 7th-grade Boys'/Girls' Basketball season. Stay posted! Crossing our fingers we can have interscholastic athletics in the Nine Mile School District this year!
We would have 4-week-long seasons only, but at least our kids would be able to participate!
Regardless, you may still register for sports through Final Forms. Only Cross Country and Wrestling are open to 6th graders. No other sports permit 6th-grade participation.
Please access the links to the far left under the "Athletics - Lakeside Middle School" page for further details about our general philosophy/program, eligibility, and individual sports.
All forms are required for participation; fees MUST be paid by the first game.
A doctor’s physical is REQUIRED before an athlete can begin practicing. According to WIAA (Washington Interscholastic Activities Association) rules, a physical is good for 24 months. An athlete only needs a physical every two school years!
