On-Line PASS System Improved For Parent Use
LHS is pleased to announce that we have upgraded the PASS System so that
students and parents will now be able to access midterm and quarter progress
reports, semester grades, payments and fees, GPA history, and attendance
anywhere with web access. When parents log into PASS, they will see a new
option entitled "Current Marks." This choice will will reveal formal grades,
complete with teacher comments. We will update this portion of PASS eight times
annually: at the end of midterms, quarters and semesters. For the remainder of
the 2006-2007 school year, we will upload according to the following schedule:
December
13, Midterm Progress Reports
February
5, Semester Grades
February
28, Midterm Progress Reports
March
28, Quarter Progress Reports
May
9, Midterm Progress Reports
June
25, Semester Grades
We hope this addition to our system makes the ability to track a
student's academic program even more convenient. We will phase out our previous
practice of mailing semester grades and having students carry home midterm and
quarter progress reports. If parents have questions, they can simply email each
teacher by using the email link right on the progress report. We want to make
it as easy as possible for parents to connect with teachers. Parents with web
access who have not signed up for PASS should contact Colette Maus to set up the
program. The whole process takes less than five minutes. Colette can be reached
at 340-4209 every school day.
Parents without web access should simply call
Colette to have the quarter and midterm progress reports sent home with their
student. Semester grades can still be mailed home. Other features of the
improved PASS system include attendance records. Parents can check the
attendance record of their student on a daily basis. Since the system is
uploaded after school every day, parents should be able to check on attendance
that same evening from home.
"We are always trying to find ways to improve our
connection with the families that we serve," remarked Mr. Mark St. Clair,
Principal, "We know the families in our community are very busy. We think
making all this information available on-line rather than on paper will create
easy ways to communicate whether at work, on the road, or at home. As always, we
welcome comments and concerns. Please let us know of any ideas on how we can
better serve families."
