At a candlelight ceremony on Wednesday, April 26th,
Lakeside High School inducted 28 new members into its National
Honor Society Chapter. Seniors in the Honor Society were also
honored. To qualify for membership, a student must have completed
the first semester of the sophomore year with a cumulative grade
point average of 3.5. From there, the student must apply.
Leadership, service, character, and scholarship
are the four qualities looked for in applicants. Students must
write about how they have contributed to the
school and to the community in each of these four areas. The application is
reviewed by a committee of teachers. Membership is granted if
the student has met the
criteria.
