The Nine Mile Falls School District, in cooperation with the community, is committed to serving each student. We will educate, challenge, and equip each student to realize his/her potential and to become a life long learner who is a contributing member of society. We strive for continuous improvement in all areas of education.

Continuous improvement of an already strong educational program is the focus of the District. Staff engage in ongoing development and improvement of curriculum that is aligned to the Washington State learning standards and transitioning into the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).  As well, there is an ongoing, concentrated effort to improve teaching through weekly Professional Learning Collaboration, which occurs each Thursday morning throughout the District.

This focused effort to continually improve student learning is demonstrated through results from the state’s mandated testing; the rigorous Measure of Student Progress (MSP) in grades 3-8, and the High School Proficiency Exam (HSPE) in grades 9-12.  We are working hard to build understanding of the new Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBAC) that will be field tested in our district in the spring of 2014.  Nine Mile Falls School District has a tradition of doing well and works hard to maintain steady improvement on the scores each year. We ask for our communities understanding as we make these shifts to new standards and a new assessment.  Our scores will inevitably dip, but we are confident that as we continue to grow and learn our scores will come back to meet our high expectations.
