Welcome
to the 2007-2008 school year in Nine Mile Falls!
The
upcoming school year brings with it much excitement and
anticipation. I am proud to be serving the Nine Mile Falls
School District in the capacity of Interim Superintendent.
This is a wonderful district and a great place for kids.
I have served in several roles in education for the past
23 years and am excited about the teachers, staff, parents,
students, and community members that comprise this district.
The dedication of this “team” will make a difference.
The
recent passage of our capital projects bond is evidence
of the commitment this community has to its kids and their
educational experience. The improvements at both elementary
schools will enhance the work of both adults and students.
We will have much information to share throughout the year
on the planning process and will see construction begin
next summer. Another indicator of the supportive community
is the number of volunteer hours that occur throughout
the district. The work could not be done without your help
and it is greatly appreciated and honored.
Student
achievement is a leading priority for our district. The
challenge of meeting the needs of each and every student
is a challenge worth the fight. We have a highly skilled
staff that is fully dedicated to the success of our children.
As well, we continue to develop strong professional development
opportunities for continued growth and are committed to
combining the use data and our educational experience to
drive our instructional decisions. It is the combination
of this commitment and the collaboration with our community
that will give us the best results . . . results for our
children, our future. Thank you for your support. If you
have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at
340-4300 or email me at blewis@9mile.org.
