In compliance with the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Asbestos Hazard Emergency Act (AHERA), Nine Mile Falls School District inspects all buildings containing asbestos each 6 months to ensure that any asbestos in those buildings do not pose a danger to the public. Additionally, every 3 years these buildings are inspected by a company certified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to ensure asbestos does not pose any imminent health threat to students, faculty, or the public. This 3 year inspection and the regular inspection was held in June 2007 and is scheduled to be conducted again in 2010. The AHERA Reinspection Report and Management Plan Update is available to the general public and can be reviewed anytime during normal school hours. As required by AHERA, a designated person is available during regular business hours to answer any questions concerning ACBM in our buildings. The designated person can be contacted through the district office.
