Before and After: School Board Director Kyle Yancey does his part for Lake Spokane’s Carnival fun! Once again, families enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon at the annual Lake Spokane Elementary School Carnival. Twelve game booths lined the walls of the gym as the young and the more mature played the Dart Throw, Fishing Pond, the Basketball Toss, and other games. A special booth this year was the Pie Throw. For just one ticket, “pie” could be thrown at School Board Director Kyle Yancey. His associates on the School Board, Director Debbie Williams and Director Cori Reeves, took advantage of this, both throwing a pie and supplying students with tickets! “I did it ‘cause I thought it’d be fun,” shared a fifth grader. “I did it three times and hit him twice!” In conjunction with the carnival, the Parent Teacher Network (PTN) organized a silent auction. Each classroom gathered donated items to place in a theme based basket. Over 26 baskets were bid on during the Carnival. The PTN’s goal is to purchase enough Document Cameras to enable each teacher to have one in his/her classroom. Funds raised from the Carnival and Auction will help towards meeting this goal.
