Sharing Joy Through Music

Sixth and seventh grade choir students from Lakeside Middle School shared their talents with the community last month. First, the choir gave a Winter Spectacular Concert on Wednesday, December 12th, in which the students sang ten seasonal songs. Two students sang a duet, Jingle Bell Rock, while another played an original arrangement, Christmas Rockin’ Melody, on his guitar. During Hear the Bells, five students accompanied the selection on instruments: resonator bells, hand drum, and tambourine. On the following Friday, the students shared their music with both our elementary schools as well as caroling at Royal Plaza, ManorCare, and Alterra Clare Bridge Nursing Homes.

In addition, four sixth graders were selected by Mrs. Theresa Nelson, Choir Director, to be members of the area wide Elementary Honor Choir (4th - 6th grades). They spent December 1st at University High School for a day of musical learning, culminating in a concert. Two students from Nine Mile Falls Elementary School also were selected for the Honor Choir.
