Dear
Community,
It
has been a busy fall in the Nine Mile Falls School
District. Our schools have been both busy and successful.
Many students are involved at all levels in diverse
activities from academic groups, to athletics, to band,
choir, and drama, etc. Research is clear about the
high levels of success in students that are involved
in school activities. We are fortunate to have exceptional
coaches and advisors that continue to create and to
support effective programs for our kids.
We
invite you to come enjoy any number of those activities
as they occur in our schools. We are beginning to post
a calendar of school events
in The Outpost each week. Be sure to check there to keep abreast of
coming activities. Communication is an important aspect
of our District’s
goals, so if you have other suggestions on how we can keep communication
flowing to our community, please let me know.
Student
conferences at our elementary schools and student-led
conferences at our middle school just occurred and
brought lots and lots of parents
into our schools. This is the second year the middle school has done
student-led conferences and has had an overwhelmingly positive response
from parents to this concept. The partnership between parents and
teachers is of the utmost importance for us to make
the impact we want to make
on the education of our kids. This fall opportunity to connect is
one way we build this partnership. Thank you to the
many parents who participated
and to the teachers for their preparation and commitment to making
the conferences and the student-led conferences a successful experience.
We
are forging ahead on our construction projects. Please

of our progress and the
exciting
work that is beginning.
Always
for kids,
Bridget
