Lake Spokane's Talent Show
Tradition marked the Annual Lake Spokane Elementary Talent Show on Friday, June, 8. First, the Talent Show was preceded by along time favorite, a Family Barbecue. Families enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs, delicious salads, and homemade desserts before heading to the gym to watch the performers. Thank you to Scott and Sherry Chaney, Terri and Jim Martin, Debbie Williams, Trevor Nelson, and Cameron Melton for organizing this part of the successful event. Performing under the show’s theme of “This Is Our Time, Now,” thirty-five acts showcased their singing, dancing, instrumental talents to a standing room only crowd. Acts included a darling rendition of How Much Is That Doggie in the Window, a student singing This is the Day, accompanied by her dad on guitar, and another student dancing to Footloose. Mrs. Mead’s entire fourth grade class danced to “Electric Slide, while the show was closed by a traditional act; fifteen fifth graders danced to “Go Daddy O” as the grande finale. Special thanks to Michelle Mitchell, Talent Show Chair, and her assistants, Rikki Waters, Mrs. Theresa Johnson, and music teacher, Mrs. Colleen Weisser, who also contributed much time in helping these young performing artists. |
