Job Title: Title 1/LAP Teacher

Contract Term: .5 FTE Continuing

Work Location: Lake Spokane Elementary School

Nature and Scope of Job:
Provide Title 1/LAP Remedial Services to Elementary Students in an in-class and/or pull-out setting.

Position Reports To: Kevin Simpson, Principal and Marc Bell, Director of Student Services

Primary Job Functions
1. Instruct and monitor Title 1 and LAP qualified students and adjust services accordingly.
2. Provide consultation services to general classroom teachers, parents and support staff.
3. Serve as a cooperative of the building’s Guidance Team (GT).
4. Conduct educational evaluations, establish and implement Student Learning Plans (SLPs), and write annual educational summary reports for designated students.
5. Maintain complete records and reports for designated students.
6. Supervise paraprofessionals.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
:
1. BA in Education, Washington State Teaching Certificate with Elementary Education Endorsement, current WSP/FBI clearance.
2. Self-motivated, enjoys working with people.
3. Specific education, training & demonstrated successful experience in instructing remedial students in a public school setting.
4. Ability to express thoughts concisely and effectively.
5. Has obtained Highly Qualified status in core academic area(s) to be taught. (NMFSD reserves the right to consider candidates not currently meeting the highly qualified status depending upon pool of applicants.)
6. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

1. Special Education Endorsement preferred.
