Job Title: 1.0 FTE Special Education Teacher

Contract Term: 1.0 FTE Continuing
Work Location: Lakeside Middle School

Nature and Scope of Job:
Provide special education and remedial services to middle school students with a broad range of functioning levels including students within the autism spectrum.

Position Reports To: Jeff Baerwald, Principal, and Marc Bell, Director of Student Services

Primary Job Functions
1. Instruct and monitor special education qualified students and adjust services accordingly.
2. Provide consultation services to general classroom teachers, parents, and special education support staff.
3. Conduct assessments.
4. Serve as a cooperative of the building Guidance Team (GT).
5. Conduct educational evaluations, establish and implement IEPs, and write annual educational summary reports for designated students.
6. Maintain complete records and reports for designated students.

Contract Term: Continuing 1

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
:
1. BA in education, Washington State Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement, current WSP/FBI clearance.
2. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Desired Qualifications
1. Self-motivated, enjoys working with people.
2. Specific education training & demonstrated successful experience in instructing students
with special needs in a public school special education setting.
3. Ability to express thoughts concisely and effectively.
