Special Board Meeting
Minutes – February 8, 2008
Nine Mile Falls School District Office

MEMBERS PRESENT: Vicki Daggy, Greg Flemming, Cori Reeves, Debbie Williams, and Kyle Yancey.

GUESTS: Glenn K. Frizzell, Education Consultants, LLC (for entire meeting) and Lori Pippenger, NMEA President (for public portion).

OPENING OF THE MEETING: Chair Daggy called the meeting to order at 3:00 PM.

EXECUTIVE SESSION: The meeting was immediately recessed into executive session to review Mr. Talbott’s contract. This was expected to last 30 minutes.

At approximately 3:30 PM, the board reported that they would remain in executive session for approximately another hour.

RECESS: 4:27PM

RECONVENE INTO REGULAR SESSION: 4:27 PM Chair Daggy called the meeting back to order at 4:27PM. Lori Pippenger, President of the NMEA, was present at the meeting.

CONTRACT APPROVAL – SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS:
MOTION: I move to approve Brian Talbott as Superintendent of Schools for a three- year contract at a salary of $106,000, effective 7/1/08.
Flemming / Williams 5-0

PUBLIC COMMENTS: As president of the Nine Mile Education Association, Lori Pippenger, approached the board and asked that it be put on record that many members of the association were saddened to learn that Mrs. Lewis was not offered the position; however, they look forward to working with Mr. Talbott.
